Representational Momentum
Demonstration of “representational momentum" using the probe judgment paradigm.
Observe the rotation of the black bar and memorize its orientation when it disappears. After a brief blank interval, a probe stimulus will appear. Your task is to judge whether the probe is in the same orientation as the bar when it disappeared.
On average, observers are more likely to respond “same" to probes in a later orientation along the rotation, compared to probes in an earlier orientation.
